A 19-year-old man, struck by a vehicle on the Daly Overpass Friday morning, has died of his injuries. Brandon police are rulig his death a suicide.
A BPS media release states, “the incident occurred at approx. 6:20 AM Friday Dec 9, when a northbound vehicle struck a male on the roadway.
The investigation has revealed that the 19-year-old male intentionally put himself in the path of the northbound vehicle. The driver of the vehicle had no ability to avoid colliding with the male.
The male was taken to hospital by ambulance, but sadly was pronounced dead a short time later. There are no charges being contemplated against the driver of the vehicle involved.”
On November 29th on the 1st Street bridge, four Brandon Wheat Kings players helped calm a man who was reportedly contemplating jumping. When police arrived, they were able to take the man to safety and he was transported to hospital.
