Original release from April 7, 2023: A garage at a residence on Hedin Crescent was entered overnight on April 5th to 6th. The entrance door to the garage was left unlocked allowing entry to be gained. Two vehicles in the garage were rummaged through and a wallet was stolen containing credit and debit cards. The owners accounts were accessed with the cards.
Update: Police learned that on April 6, 2023, a suspect used the victim’s debit card at a local business. Security footage from that business has since assisted police in identifying a 24-year-old male suspect who is currently lodged in Brandon Correctional Centre on separate charges. On May 8, 2023, police attended to BCC to advise the suspect of the additional charges. He will appear in court today on new charges of Possess Property Obtained by Crime and Fraud Use of a Credit Card.

On April 21, 2023, Brandon police received a report of a male suspect stealing approximately $100 of grocery meat from a business in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. Security footage from the business assisted police in identifying a 39-year-old male who was located and arrested on May 8, 2023. He was later released to appear in court on June 26, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On May 5, 2023, police received a report of the theft of approximately $160.00 of merchandise from a business in the 600 block of 18th Street. The theft occurred on May 4, 2023 and was captured on security footage. Police were able to identify a 34-year-old female. She was located and arrested on May 8, 2023. She was later released to appear in court on July 10, 2023 on a charge of Theft Under $5000.

On May 8, 2023 shortly after 8:00 pm, Brandon police observed a male on a bike with a backpack in the 600 block of 10th Street. Sticking out of the backpack was a long handle, which appeared to possibly be a machete. The male was stopped and arrested. Police discovered the handle was actually a hammer with a long handle. The 46-year-old male was also to abide by conditions not to possess any alcohol or drugs. Officers say he was also found to be carrying an alcoholic beverage and a small amount of Meth. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on Fail to Comply with Release Order and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Arrest Warrants:
On May 9, 2023, shortly after midnight, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. One of the individuals involved was found to be wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Undertaking. The 33-year-old male was arrested and later released to appear in court on August 31, 2023.
On May 8, 2023, a 37-year-old female attended to Brandon Police Service to turn herself in on outstanding charges of Fail to Attend Court. She was later released and will appear in court on July 6, 2023.
