On June 27, at 5:30 pm, Souris RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 10, located approximately five kilometers north of Highway 1, in the RM of Elton.
Investigators have determined that a pickup truck, with two occupants, a 38-year-old male and a 62-year-old male, was travelling southbound when it veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a semi, being driven by a 39-year-old male from Rivers.
The two occupants in the pickup truck were pronounced deceased on scene. The 39-year-old semi driver was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were consumed by fire.
Souris RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
