A strike by 1,400 liquor workers in Manitoba is over. Members of the Manitoba Government and General Employees’ Union voted on the weekend to accept a deal reached last week with the Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries corporation (MBLL).
The union says most members covered in the deal will see wage increases totaling 12% over four years, although a statement by Manitoba Liquor and Lotteries says the increases are just 2% per year.
The MBLL says all liquor marts will be open Monday, Aug 28th. Two stores, Eastwinds and Brandon’s 10th & Victoria outlet will continue to be exclusive to commercial customers until later this week. Deliveries to commercial partners including private retailers, such as liquor vendors, and licensees, such as bars and restaurants, will begin next week.
All customers are reminded to visit Liquor Marts Hours of Operation | Manitoba Liquor Mart for information on store hours.
