The Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the arrest of a male in Dauphin on August 29th.
A media release states, “On Aug. 30, the RCMP notified the IIU of an incident that resulted in a serious injury requiring hospitalization. According to the notification, on Aug. 29 an RCMP officer observed a male on a motorcycle driving dangerously and at a high rate of speed on Provincial Trunk Highway 5 near Dauphin. The male was treated by EMS and taken to Dauphin Regional Health Centre, where it was determined he suffered three broken ribs.
