At Brandon city council tonight, staff will recommend councillors seek proposals for designing a new Sportsplex ice plant. The rink has been closed since March because of problems with the ice-making equipment.
It would cost about $4-million to replace the ice plant and make other upgrades to the Sportsplex.
Also on tonight’s agenda – a presentation on Truth and Reconciliation Week that’s expected to cover events planned for next week, recent projects, and include a recap of last year’s Truth and Reconciliation Week.
Council will also hear a proposal for expansion from the Central Assiniboine Watershed District – and reports from the city’s finance committee, the Keystone Centre, Western Manitoba Centennial Auditorium, and the Brandon Urban Aboriginal Peoples Council.
