The human remains discovered near Killarney on September 19th appear to have been from an older burial plot, this from Manitoba RCMP today.
An investigation by RCMP Forensic Identification Services, and an anthropology team, began after workers excavating gravel in a field off Highway 3 about 10 kilometres West of Killarney discovered the remains.
Media Relations Officer, Sgt. Paul Manaigre, said in an email, “the anthropology team has determined that the remains appear to have been from an older burial plot. They are in the process of determining how old they are.”
He said, “a further examination of the area did not recover any historical artifacts suggesting that this was simply an older familial burial plot from some time ago.”
