In 2021, Fusion Credit Union launched its Community Infusion competition saying “Community Infusion is focused on economic development as a means of positively affecting our communities, which could include elements such as job creation or opportunities, community engagement, small business and entrepreneurial support.”
A media release says “this past May, we embarked on the third year of our competition. Several applications from local businesses were received and scored through a vigorous scoring criterion. Five Fusion Credit Union judges narrowed the list down to fourteen entrepreneurs who were asked to submit detailed business plans as part of the second round. After the judges reviewed and scored all business plans the “Final Five” were determined.
The release goes on to say, “We are excited to share that these entrepreneurs will be pitching their business concept in front of a live audience and a panel of judges on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, for a chance to share in $30,000 of grant funding. This event is free to attend, and we cordially invite the public to join us in showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit Western Manitoba has to offer.”
The finals of Community Infusion will be held Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Brandon’s ‘Dome Building’. It’s Free to attend and snacks will be available. Winners will be announced following the business pitches.
