-The Brandon Wheat Kings visit the Seattle Thunderbirds on Tuesday (Oct 17). Last Friday, Brandon beat Tri-City 5-2, but lost 3-2 to Spokane on Saturday.
-The Brandon AAA U-18 Wheat Kings won their 6th game in-a-row Sunday with a 4-1 win over the Pembina Valley Hawks. The Westman Wildcats, meantime, edged the Hawks 5-4. Paige Crossley recorded a hat-trick for Westman.
-In the NHL – the Winnipeg Jets host the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday (Oct 17). Winnipeg beat Florida 6-4 on Saturday. There are 5 games tonight including Connor Bedard and the Chicago Blackhawks in Toronto against the Maple Leafs.
-The Brandon University Bobcats men’s and women’s soccer teams won their games over the weekend. The women beat St. Boniface 4-0 and ACC 12-0 – while the men downed St. B 5-1 and ACC 4-0.
-The Philadelphia Phillies host the Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series tonight, and the Houston Astros take on the Texas Rangers in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series. Texas won last night’s opener 2-0.
-In the Monday Night NFL game, the 3-and-2 Dallas Cowboys play the 2-and-2 Chargers in Los Angeles.
-Team Canada is undefeated at the 2023 World Mixed Curling Championship at Aberdeen, Scotland. They sit at 3-and-0 in Pool B after beating Australia 7-2 on Sunday.
