On October 16, 2023, shortly after 1:00 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of a driver who failed to stop at a stop sign before hitting a vehicle and proceed the wrong way on Princess Avenue. Police located and stopped the vehicle in the 100 block of 13th Street. Police say the 23-year-old male driver displayed signs of impairment and was arrested. They say the driver provided samples of his breath that were more than 3 times the legal limit. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will appear in court today on charges of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Driving While Ability Impaired, Driving with More than 80 mgs of Alcohol in Blood, Prohibited Driving, and an outstanding charge of Fail to Attend Court.

On October 16, 2023, at proximately 10:30 pm, police responded to a report of a disturbance at a residence. Police say a 14-year-old intoxicated boy was reportedly causing the disturbance. As police were attempting to arrest the male and remove him, they say an intoxicated 13-year-old girl allegedly attempted to prevent his arrest by physically interfering. She too was arrested. The male youth was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober, he will receive a fine under the LGCCA for consuming underage. The female youth was lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober and will be released to appear in court on January 16, 2024, on a charge of Obstruct Peace Officer.

On October 17, 2023, shortly after 3:00 am, Brandon police and fire crews responded to a report of a structure fire to a residential garage in the 000 block of 6th Street. There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is not considered to be suspicious in nature.

On October 16, 2023, shortly before 3:00 pm, police responded to a report of an intoxicated male at a business in the 800 block of Rosser Avenue. Police located a 26-year-old male who they say was in no condition to care for himself. He was lodged at Brandon Police Service and will be released once sober.

On October 16, 2023, at approximately 7:30 pm, Brandon police responded to a report of an intoxicated male causing a disturbance in a residence. Officers say others in the home were unable to prevent his actions from escalating. A 46-year-old male was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

On October 17, 2023, shortly after 2:00 am, police responded to a report of an intoxicated female causing issues at a residence. Police say she was no longer welcome in the home, and a 19-year-old female was arrested and lodged at Brandon Police Service until sober.

-On October 16, 2023, a 20-year-old male attended Brandon Police Service to turn himself in on an outstanding charge of Assault. He was lodged to appear in court later in the day.
-On October 16, 2023, police located and arrested a 28-year-old female who was wanted on outstanding charges of Fail to Comply with Probation and Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose. She was released to appear in court on November 16, 2023.
