This Wednesday, October 25th, Manitoba Ag Ex begins a celebration of its 50th year. The event will run until Saturday, October 28th in the north facility of Brandon’s Keystone Centre. (Westoba Agricultural Centre of Excellence). You can use Entrance D on the west side of the building.
Ag Ex is home to the largest all breeds cattle show, and Provincial Exhibition General Manager Mark Humphries says this year there’s been a big boost in livestock entries…the largest in years. The Manitoba Sheep Association is also back to host the Jackpot Market Lamb Show.
‘Moo Mania’ and ‘Ewe Mania’ are also returning. The programs promote education in agriculture, and students in Grades 3, 4 and 5 can part take in all things cattle and sheep. They’ll learn where they’re food comes from, and other aspects of the agriculture industry including healthy environmental practices.
There will also be a trade show showcasing exhibitors from across Canada with the goal of helping you find financially friendly initiatives and easier farming practices.
New this year is ‘Party in the DIRT’. For only $10.00, you can enjoy live music featuring ‘Hicktown’ – Friday, October 27, 2023 in the Westoba Agriculture Centre of Excellence. (Must be 18 years of age to attend.) Other than this event – Manitoba Ag Ex is FREE to attend.
