The City of Brandon wishes to advise of the following hours of operation for the 2023 Christmas and New Year’s holiday hours of operation.
Brandon City Hall (410-9th Street), A.R. McDiarmid Civic Complex (638 Princess Avenue), Civic Services Complex (382 Park Avenue East), and Parks Complex (2020 McGregor Avenue) are all closed:

Brandon Transit hours:
-Sunday, December 24 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
-Monday, December 25 No regular transit
-Tuesday, December 26 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
-Sunday, December 31 6 a.m. to January 1 at 3 a.m.
-Monday, January 1 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Transit Information Centre will be closed December 25, 26, and January 1. Ring in the New Year with Brandon Transit – Ride Brandon Transit for free New Year’s Eve from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m.
Brandon’s Community Sportsplex hours:
-Sunday, December 24 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-Monday, December 25 Closed
-Tuesday, December 26 Closed
-Sunday, December 31 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
-Monday, January 1 Closed
Brandon’s Youth Centre will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1.
The Eastview Landfill will be closed December 24, 25, 26, 31, and January 1. Regular residential refuse and recycle collection will continue to be collected on Tuesday, December 26.
Brandon Municipal Cemetery is open to the public seven days a week from dawn to dusk. The Cemetery Office will be closed December 25-26, and January 1.
All after-hours Public Works emergencies should be directed to the City of Brandon Public Works After-Hours Line at 204-729-2285. Non-emergent issues can be submitted online at City of Brandon – Report an Issue.
Regular hours of operation are in place December 27 – 29 and return on January 2, 2024.
Things to do during the holidays:
Winter Concert At East End Community Centre – Join us for a FREE enchanted outdoor winter concert at the East End Community Centre on Thursday, December 28 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Enjoy free outdoor music performed by Chris Ghidoni, Mac & Cheese, and The Wheat City Jug Band. While supplies last, take advantage of complimentary hot chocolate from Forbidden Flavors, live music, skating, tobogganing, and prizes. The Skating Oval
The Skating Oval, located immediately west of the City of Brandon’s Parks & Recreation Complex on McGregor Avenue will be open Friday, December 22nd at 4 p.m. Around the skating oval is the Manitoba Hydro Power Smart Waterfall of Lights display, which is on from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. nightly through the winter season. No public vehicles are allowed in the direct area of the Waterfall of Lights display. The public is encouraged to park in designated areas on McGregor Avenue or Hilton Avenue and walk through the area to view the lights. The City of Brandon Parks & Recreation Department asks all members of the public to enjoy the lighting displays at a safe distance and not to walk in areas where power cords are present.
Public Skate at Westoba Place
Public Skate will be available at Westoba Place on December 30 from 2 – 3 p.m. Space is limited. Pre-registration is available at http://tinyurl.com/uysn5k8h.
