The Weather Network has released its spring outlook and says most Canadians can look forward to a warmer-than-normal spring – but we should brace for “profound mood swings.” It says El Nino conditions, which gave us a relatively mild winter, will make for a pleasant spring – but not without some interruptions.
The Weather Network’s chief meteorologist Chris Scott says “Overall, we will average out above normal for temperatures across the vast majority of the nation, from Vancouver through to Montreal – but keep in mind that spring is a time of transition, and it is a roller-coaster.”
He says that could mean almost summer-like days quickly followed by cold snaps, stormy weather and even some potentially significant snowfall in parts of Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
Scott says by late April, it should be drier in most regions with exceptions being east-central Saskatchewan, central Manitoba and southwest Nova Scotia, where the forecast calls for above-normal precipitation.
