The Manitoba NDP’s first budget included news that Brandon University would receive funding to expand its medical school.
The university had announced, earlier this month, it had planned to upgrade its science facilities by renovating the Brodie Science Centre and add a six-storey research annex building.
In regards to a timeline for construction work, Premier Wab Kinew said yesterday, “We want to stand that up as soon as possible.”
Brandon’s Park Community Centre on Louise Avenue and 15th Street is also set to receive funding as part of an increase of $4 million for sport and cultural organizations.
