-Canada won gold at the world women’s hockey championship after a 6-5 overtime win over the United States. Finland edged Czechia 3-2 in a shootout for the bronze medal.
-The Winnipeg Jets have two regular season games left before the start of the post-season. They play the Seattle Kraken Tuesday and the Vancouver Canucks on Thursday – both are home games. The Jets are currently alone in second place in the Central Division with 106 points, one up on Colorado who they beat 7-0 on Saturday.
-The Virden Oil Capitals season is on the line tonight. They trail the Winkler Flyers 3-games-to-2 in their Manitoba Junior Hockey League semifinal series. In the other series, the OCN Blizzard host the defending champion Steinbach Pistons. The Blizzard lead that series 3-2.
-Scottie Scheffler closed with a 4-under 68 to claim his second Masters in three years with a four-shot victory. Canadian Corey Connors finished tied for 38th.
-Brad Gushue and Silvana Tirinzoni won the final Grand Slam of Curling tournament of the season, the Players Championship in Toronto. Gushue edged Joel Retornaz 7-6 in the men’s final for his 15th career Grand Slam of Curling title. Tirinzoni beat Isabelle Wrana 6-5 in the women’s final.
-and the Toronto Blue Jays blanked the Colorado Rockies 5-0 Sunday to improve to 8-and-8. The Jays host the Yankees today.
