Well the May 24-long weekend is in our rearview mirror, and the “Fashion Police” is reminding us all, that it is finally okay to pull out all your “white colored clothing” and linen styled clothes, from your closet. Yes Tim, drag those white pieces of clothing to the front of your rotation clothing line! This truly is a traditional based fashion guideline dating back to the 19th century, stating that you must wait until Victoria Day to wear your favorite white, and you can only wear “white” until Labour Day in September! Moreover, this fashion statement was observed mostly in high society; however, I will say, we did adhere to it in my house growing up! Thanks Mum!
So in honour of this fashion fact; I wore my linen pants to work today! Now I love to live in linen, but holy hanna, does it ever wrinkle quickly, or what! Linen aside, white pants, shirts, shoes, and handbags, are now all perfectly “fashion police” acceptable” to wear! If you are sporting an early tan, wearing white, makes you feel and look like you were on a tropical vacation!
Do you follow the etiquette rules about when to wear white, or maybe you wear it all year long, and buck the fashion police? Let us know on the Fusion Credit Union text line at 204-725-25-25! Enquiring minds want to know!
Cheers,
Shelly and Tim
