June 4th, is National Cheese Day, not to be confused with other popular cheese related holidays like, grilled cheese day, or cheesecake day….this my friends is the Queen of all dairy, “The Big Cheese” day!
Both Tim and I are cheese lovers. Tim really likes the cheese with the red wrapper. Babybel Cheese is known for it’s red wax coating-it’s hard to peel, ya gotta really work for it to get to the cheese, but okay! Meantime, my all time favorite is Havarti-Dill…mmmmm, let’s get real here, I will eat any cheese that you put in front of me! Remember that Seinfeld episode where George dreams of eating a block of cheese in his underwear..ya that’s me!!!
The most popular cheese of all is (obviously) mozzarella. This of course relates to the most delicious pizza topping first created near Naples-makes sense! Pizza and Mozza go hand in hand, or hand in mouth!
DYK, that there is over 1-thousand estimated different kinds of french cheese? Wow, I know where I’m booking my holidays! Or, maybe Shelly, keep it local by eating some poutine at the Summer Fair that kicks off tomorrow in Brandon, now that’s a whole lotta cheese!
