UPDATE 2: Saskatchewan RCMP have reportedly arrested a man who fled the scene after another man was fatally shot by police in southern Manitoba early Wednesday morning.
Police say 29-year-old David Frank Burling was arrested along with woman without incident near Springside, Saskatchewan, about 25 kilometres northwest of Yorkton, at around 2:30 p.m. CT, following an hours-long search.
Earlier today, RCMP said he fled the scene were another man was declared dead following a shooting by Winnipeg police.
UPDATE 1: Saskatchewan RCMP are now reportedly searching for a 29-year-old man who they say fled from police in Niverville in a stolen vehicle.
29-year-old David Burling is believed to be driving a green 2016 Subaru CrossTrek with Manitoba plate LJB 238. He’s described as five-foot-two, weighing 190 pounds with black hair and hazel eyes.
RCMP say Burling is believed to be travelling westbound on Highway 22, possibly to the Fort Qu’Appelle area.

Manitoba RCMP say that at approximately 3:00 am on June 5, 2024, there was a large police presence in Niverville, about 20-kilometres south of Winnipeg, in relation to an officer-involved shooting. Police say an adult male is deceased.
RCMP and Winnipeg Police Service remain at a Shell gas station at Drovers Run and Krahn Road, which will be blocked off for a large portion of the day.
One female in custody and one male has fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.
Police are also reportedly at a second scene, just southeast of Niverville at the corner of Highways 59 and 305, which was also apparently connected to the incident in the town.
