-Spain is the king of European soccer for a record fourth time. They topped England 2-1 in the European Championship final on Sunday.
-Argentina won a record 16th Copa America championship with a 1-nil win over Columbia. Canada lost to Uruguay 4-3 in penalties in the third place game.
-In the CFL – the Ottawa Redblacks edged the Edmonton Elks 37-34 on Sunday. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers won their second game-in-a-row last Friday with a 41-37 win over the Calgary Stampeders.
-In the South West Baseball League, the Oak River Dodgers kept their playoff hopes alive Sunday with an 8-3 win over the Elkhorn Expos. The 6-and-8 Dodgers are two games back of the 8-and-6 Wawanesa Brewers who hold down the fourth and final playoff spot.
