Brandon City Council pay rose $48,000 last year
The Brandon Sun reports that the 11 members of Brandon City Council earned a collective $374,839.09 in salary and other compensation last year, according to the city’s annual disclosure report.
Leading the pack is Mayor Jeff Fawcett ; earning $111,953.94 in total compensation last year, while Deputy Mayor and Councillor Glen Parker, earned $31,843.83. The rest of council earned less than $30,000 each in total compensation: City manager Ron Bowles, who is leaving at the end of the month, was the highest earner at $222,095.17.

Brandon police teams made a significant drug bust, a 24-year old female is facing 5 charges in relation to the possession of drugs and weapons. Police seized 37 grams of Fentanyl-worth $15,000, 5 grams of meth (with a street value of $300), a cell phone, a digital scale, score sheets, packaging materials and various weapons.
Meantime: Police were called to a business in the 3400 block of Victoria early Tuesday morning. 4- youth, who attempted to run, were arrested, and had stolen alcohol in their possession.

A Water bus service has been launched on Wpg Rivers: And for the first time in 6- years, Winnipeggers and visitors will be able to hop on a bus that uses rivers instead of roads, launching at The Forks over the weekend. The Winnipeg Waterways co-owner says the service will provide a convenient commute for people going to and from work, With 7 docks of service. A one way trip is $6-dollars.
