Brandon Police Service August 8th, 2024
On August 7th several warrants were executed:
Killarney RCMP requested BPS arrest a 24-year-old male. Arrested in his home and lodged for court in the morning on a Sexual Assault charge.
A 35-year-old male was arrested after a pedestrian stop in the 0 hundred block of 9th Street. File showed unendorsed warrant. Arrested and lodged for court in the morning on August 8th, 2024.
A 29-year-old female attend BPS as she knew she had outstanding charges from Winnipeg Police Service for Failure to Attend Court. Released on Appearance Notice for court in Winnipeg on October 8th, 2024.
Mischief to Property
On August 7th at 8:31AM police responded to a report of damage to a glass door in the 300 block of 34th Street. A female suspect threw a brick through the door then headed toward 34th and Victoria Ave. Members located and arrested a 37-year-old female. She was later released with a court date of October 1, 2024.
Yesterday’s Break and Enter to Commit Theft Caught!
It was reported that on August 1st, 2024, two males cut the fence to a compound and entered. It was found an item was stolen.
On the evening of August 7th an off-duty officer observed two individuals matching the suspect descriptions sitting on a bus bench at 18th & Kirkaldy. Patrol was notified and subsequently arrested the two individuals. A 34-year-old male and a 32-year-old male were arrested and later released with Undertakings and court date of October 21, 2024.
Assault
On August 7th a security guard reported they were at the 800 block of Rosser Avenue when a highly intoxicated male got off a bus and bear hugged him. Upon releasing from the hug, the suspect proceeded to punch the security guard in the face. The suspect was located in the area by police and arrested for assault. The male was lodged due to intoxication level and to prevent further incident. Will be released once sober in the morning on an Undertaking with a court date of October 7th, 2024.
Failure to Comply with Release Order X2 (Curfew) / Possession of Fentanyl
On August 7th at 11:00PM, members attended to a residence in the 1200 block of Rosser Avenue after receiving multiple calls of noise complaint and fear of possible break and enter. Four individuals were found inside. One male was found to be in breach of a Release Order curfew condition. In addition, he had 2 grams of Fentanyl in his possession. The 38-year-old male was lodged for court in the morning.
IPDA
On August 7th at 10:00PM police were called to the 800 block of Pacific Avenue due to a highly intoxicated male causing disturbance and unable to take care of himself. He was lodged for the evening and will be released once sober.
