A 61-year-old man from Melita has died after a car crash on Highway 83, according to Virden RCMP.
In a release, RCMP said they got a call of a two-car crash at about 8:35 AM on August 26 about three kilometres south of Provincial Road 345. After investigating the scene, they found a southbound vehicle had veered over the center line and collided head-on with a northbound semi-trailer.
The driver of the southbound vehicle was a 61-year-old from Melita and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The 47-year-old male driver of the semi-trailer, from Meadowbrook Village, was treated and released for minor physical injuries.
Virden RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
