A local man has died after a crash on Highway 250 yesterday evening according to RCMP.
In their release, RCMP said they were called to a crash on October 8 at about 5:15 PM, about 10 kilometres north of Highway 1, between Road 62 North and Road 64 North in the RM of Riverdale. There, they found a motorcycle and an SUV had collided.
The motorcycle driver, a 48-year-old man from Brandon, was pronounced dead at the scene. A 37-year-old woman from Souris, the driver of the SUV, was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
“Initial investigation has determined that an SUV was travelling northbound on Highway 250 when it crossed the centre line at a curve in the road and struck the southbound motorcycle,” police said in their release.
RCMP also said the woman was wearing a seatbelt and alcohol was not believed to be a factor. They continue to investigate.
