Stolen Vehicle Recovered
On Sunday, November 17th it was reported that a GMC Yukon had been stolen overnight. That vehicle has since been recovered by the Virden RCMP. The vehicle was recovered in Sioux Valley and towed. The situation remains under investigation.
Mischief Under $5000
On November 18th Brandon Police Service (BPS) received reports of a highly intoxicated and disgruntled person kicking in the door of an establishment in the 700 block of Princess Avenue. Suspect then moved to the parkade and allegedly tried to fight people. Police located the 46-year-old male on the north side of the parkade and arrested him. He was held in detention cells and will be released once sober in the morning. Court date of January 27th, 2025.
Failure to Comply with Release Order
On November 18th a 35-year-old female phoned in and reported her purse had been snatched on the evening of November 17th in the 700 block of 10th Street. She was given documentation to replace her driver’s license, and the purse theft remains under investigation. The female however had an endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Comply with a Release Order. Police attended and she was arrested and released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of January 30th, 2025.
Theft Under $5000
On November 18th at 4:24pm a pedestrian stop in the back lane of the 200 block of 4th Street resulted in a 36 year old female being arrested and held in detention cells on an Unendorsed Warrant of Arrest for Theft Under $5000. She will attend court in the morning on November 19th, 2024. There was a bike nearby where the female was, but she stated it was left there by a third party. The bike was seized by police and taken into property.(Reminder: If you are missing a bike, please contact police with serial # and/or full description).
Failure to Attend Court
On November 18th at 11:03PM while investigating a separate matter, police located a 57-year-old male who was found to have an Endorsed Warrant of Arrest for Failure to Attend Court. Sober male was arrested and held in detention to attend court in the morning on November 19th, 2024.
LGCCA – Minor
On November 19th at 3:16AM police received a call of an intoxicated female youth screaming at a residential door in the 400 block of Frederick Street. Homeowner stated youth did not belong there. BPS was in contact with the youth’s mother. The 16-year-old female was arrested and held in detention cells. She will be released to her mother once sober in the morning.
Failure to Comply with Undertaking
On November 18th a 26-year-old male was identified from an October 6th, 2024, surveillance video where he threw a blue tooth speaker behind the counter and left a business in the Corral Centre. The male was bound by an Undertaking not to attend the Corral Centre. As of November 18th, the male was in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre, so a BPS officer attended and arrested him on this charge of Failure to Comply with Undertaking. He will appear in court on November 19th, 2024.
