With ongoing disruptions to postal service, the provincial government has announced a new list of cheque and essential mail distribution locations that will be open beginning today.
In a release, the province said they were opening locations for picking up and dropping off cheques that would be open from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM from Monday through Friday. They stress that anyone attending one of these locations should bring either photo ID or two pieces of non-photo ID.
“Essential mail includes cheques, court orders, educational materials, medical supplies and resources required to maintain health-care services and other prioritized items,” reads the provincial release.
There is a location in Brandon, listed on the province’s more detailed breakdown on the subject. That location will be Provincial Building 340-9th Street.
Cheques available at these locations include:
- trade vendor/landlord,
- provincial superannuation,
- Disaster Financial Assistance,
- refunds,
- tuition reimbursements,
- employee paycheques and pay advice,
- Pharmacare and Senior Eye Glass Program,
- prenatal benefit cheques, as well as application drop-off, and
- Maintenance Enforcement Program
