-The Moose Jaw warriors edged the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 in a shootout last night. The Wheat Kings play again after the holidays on December 27th when they host Regina.
-The Winnipeg Jets beat the San Jose Sharks 4-3 last night. The win improves the Jets record to 23-9-and-1 for top spot in the Central Division – 3 points ahead of the Wild.
-Forward Kevin He has agreed to a three-year, entry-level contract with the Winnipeg Jets, making him the first Chinese-born player to sign an NHL contract. The 18-year-old was born in Beijing and moved to Canada with his family when he was six.
-Team Canada wraps up its four-day training camp in Petawawa, Ontario today, and will play the first of three pre-tournament games Thursday night against Switzerland. They’ll also face Sweden on Saturday and Czechia on Monday. Canada opens the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship on Boxing Day in Ottawa against Finland. Brandon Wheat Kings goalie Carson Bjarnason is on Team Canada’s roster.
