-The Anaheim Ducks edged the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 last night. The Jets are back in action Saturday when they host the Minnesota Wild.
-Team Canada plays Switzerland tonight in a pre-tournament game ahead of the World Junior Hockey Championships. Canada will also meet Sweden on Saturday and Czechia on Monday. Canada will open the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championship on Boxing Day in Ottawa against Finland. Brandon Wheat Kings goaltender Carson Bjarnason is on Team Canada’s roster.
-In the PWHL – Elm Creek’s Corinne Schroeder made 27 saves in the New York Sirens 4-2 win over the Toronto Sceptres. Brandon’s Kristen Campbell got the start for the Sceptres and stopped 17 of 21 shots. She was pulled after 40 minutes and replaced by Ste. Anne’s Raygan Kirk who handled all nine shots she faced in the third period in her PWHL debut.
-In the NFL – the Los Angeles Chargers host the Denver Broncos.
