On April 20, 2025, at approximately 10:05 pm, Dauphin RCMP received a report of an assault inside a residence on Jackson Street in Dauphin.
When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that a male had barricaded himself inside, and would not allow entry so police could check on the wellbeing of others.
RCMP forced entry inside the home where they arrested 41-year-old Roland Klyne from Winnipeg.
Through the initial investigation, officers learned Klyne had assaulted and threatened a 21-year-old female, and also held a 36-year-old male at gunpoint. Neither victims from Dauphin sustained serious injuries.
A subsequent search of the home resulted in police locating a sawed-off shotgun, ammunition and a knife.
While in police custody, Klyne damaged the sprinkler system in Dauphin cells, and also threatened an officer.
Klyne was remanded and charged with 18 different offences including Assault, and numerous involving Firearms.
Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
