Arson
On May 11th at approximately 8:06AM, 911 advised of a fire at a residence in the 400 block of 8th Street. The premises were boarded up and Brandon Fire & Emergency Services made entry, extinguishing the fires. There were multiple points of ignition. It appeared entry was made through a north side 2nd floor window, which was accessed via the porch roof. The situation remains under investigation and anyone with information is asked to reach out to Brandon Police Service at 204-729-2345.
Arrest Warrant
On May 11th police pulled over a vehicle in the 2400 block of Brandon Avenue at approximately 9:15AM. The 22-year-old female passenger had an Unendorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Attend Court). The female was arrested and held in custody to appear in court.
On May 11th at 4:30PM a 28-year-old female attended Brandon Police station as she was aware of a Failure to Comply Probation charge. She had attended a business in the Corral Centre that she was on conditions not to attend and was aware Police were looking for her. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of July 21st, 2025.
Breach of the Peace
On May 11th a police officer spotted a suspect with a stolen Pitbull dog in the 700 block of Rosser Avenue. (The dog was a stolen female Pitbull from the 1000 block of 6th Street). The suspect fled and turned the dog loose. The owner of the dog was able to attend the area and the dog was safely retrieved, but the owner declined to make a complaint. The suspect was apprehended by police and was hostile and aggressive. He was arrested, held in detention cells and will be released once calmed down.
Two other individuals were also arrested for Breach of the Peace regarding separate incidents.
Fraudulently Obtaining Transportation
On May 11th at 11:00PM a taxi pulled up to BPS that held two occupants who were refusing to pay their $73 fare. When the vehicle stopped the two fled on foot. Shortly after midnight the driver called as the two suspects were now seen at a business on 10th Street. Video surveillance confirmed identity. Police arrested and charged the two individuals – 34-year-old female and 36-year-old male. A court date of July 7th, 2025 has been set.
