A Dauphin man faces charges including assaulting a peace officer and uttering threats after a business refusing to serve him allegedly escalated.
According to a release from Dauphin RCMP, officers were patrolling on June 16 at about 10:30 PM when they noticed a disturbance outside a business in the 100 block of Main Street South in Dauphin. A 37-year-old man was allegedly threatening an employee and trying to get back into a business that he’d been refused service at.
Police said they arrested the man at the scene, and while he was being transported back to the detachment, he threatened them. When they put him in cells, they called paramedics to check on his condition.
“When paramedics arrived, the male became combative towards them, and he was taken to hospital,” said the RCMP in their release. “Once there, he continued to threaten police, spitting on an officer and a staff member at the hospital.”
