A 17-year-old boy faces charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking following an arrest by Ste. Rose du Lac RCMP.
In a release, police said they were in the midst of traffic enforcement and tried to stop an unregistered pickup truck. The truck pulled into a driveway instead of pulling over, and police said a male who exited the vehicle tried to walk away from them with a backpack slung over his shoulder.
Police said they arrested the 17-year-old driver from Crane River First Nation and searched him. That searched allegedly turned up individually packaged substances that appeared to be marihuana and crack cocaine, in addition to Canadian currency.
The 17-year-old was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and released pending a court date.
