Breach of the Peace
On July 16th at 9:39AM police attended the 400 block of 12th Street for a disturbance call. A male and female could be heard yelling. A 25-year-old intoxicated male was arrested for trespassing and was held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells to prevent further issues. He will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrants
In the last 24 hours four individuals had Arrest Warrants executed.
Arrest Warrants / New Charges
At 11:31AM, it was reported that unknown occupants and a possible domestic disturbance was occurring in Westaway Bay. Police attended and it was found that the legal tenant had vacated the unit. A male answered the door; a female came running down the stairs before the male slammed the door and yelling was heard.
Attempts to communicate were unsuccessful. A perimeter was established. The male was identified. Incident Command was activated. All occupants except the 20-year-old male exited voluntarily. He was later found hiding in the attic.
It was reported the male had slapped one of the occupants.
He was arrested and transported to BPS cells for court. Charges include Resist Arrest, Assault, along with a Brandon Police Service Arrest Warrant for Pointing a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possess Firearm when Prohibited, Breach of Probation, Failure to Attend Court, and a Winnipeg Police Service Arrest Warrant for Failure to Comply with Release Order.
Vehicle Stop Leads to Charges
On July 16th at 4:04PM a traffic stop was conducted in the 400 block of 13th Street. All three parties within the vehicle were arrested for Open Liquor in the vehicle. Upon further search a knife and replica BB gun were found in the vehicle. A 22-year-old male was arrested and charged with Possession of a Weapon x2 and Failure to Comply Undertaking. He was held in detention cells for court in the morning. A 28-year-old female was arrested and charged for Possession of a Weapon x2. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date of September 11th, 2025. A 27-year-old female was arrested and charged with Possession of Cocaine and Possession of a Weapon x2. She was released via Undertaking with a court date of September 11th, 2025.
Possession of a Weapon / Point a Firearm
On July 16th, an off-duty officer reported that a vehicle had pulled alongside their own in the northbound lane of 18th Street, in the 1500 block, at which point the male passenger pointed a firearm at them. Police later located the suspect vehicle and its driver in the 600 block of 10th Street and subsequently located the male passenger and a replica firearm in the Keystone parking lot. The driver was released without charges. The 18-year-old male passenger was arrested and charged. He was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on September 25th, 2025.
Theft Under $5000
On July 15th police received a complaint of a stolen bike from the Shoppers Mall. On July 16th the bike was recovered, and a 34-year-old male, who was in possession of it, was arrested. He was later released via Appearance Notice with a court date of September 25th, 2025.
