IPDA (Intoxicated Persons Detention Act)
In the past 24 hours five individuals were arrested for IPDA. They will be released once sober.
Assault
On July 17th at 7:12 p.m. an employee called Brandon Police Service (BPS) from a business in the 1900 block of Richmond Avenue. It was reported that as he was exiting an unknown female youth slapped him in the face. Police attended and located the 13-year-old female in the parking lot. She was arrested and transported to BPS, processed and released via Undertaking to her guardian with a court date of September 18th, 2025.
Failure to Comply Release Order X3
On July 18th at 12:29 a.m. a traffic stop was conducted in the 1200 block of College Avenue. A 35-year-old male passenger was found to be breaching three conditions of his Release Order – Not to attend Brandon, curfew, and must reside in Fisher River. The male was arrested and held in BPS detention cells for court in the morning on July 18th, 2025.
Operation While Impaired / Operation with Equal to or Exceeding 80mgs% / Flight from Police / Highway Traffic Act violations X5
On July 18 at 2:38 a.m., police observed a male operating a vehicle driving the wrong way on Princess Avenue. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled. It was later located stopped in the 700 block of Percy Street. The male, identified by officers as the driver, was found walking in the alley in the 700 block of Percy Street. He appeared to be extremely intoxicated and was arrested for Impaired Driving. He was transported to BPS where breath samples provided measured 200 mg% and 190 mg%.
Theft Under $5000
On July 13th, an unidentified male suspect reportedly stole items from a store located in the Corral Centre, in the 900 block of 18th Street North. A bulletin requesting assistance in identifying the suspect was circulated. On July 17th at approximately 4:40 p.m., a BPS officer observed the suspect in the area of 8th Street and Rosser Avenue. The 29-year-old male was arrested and later released on an Undertaking, with a scheduled court date of September 25th, 2025.
