After a mechanical issue postponed the initial opening in mid-June, Kinsmen Pool in Brandon is set to open today at 11:00 AM.
The City of Brandon announced the mechanical issues that delayed the planned opening had been resolved, and the pool is ready to open. According to the city, it has undergone repairs, testing, and an inspection by Manitoba Health.
“We are thrilled to be able to officially open our outdoor pool for the season and invite everyone to enjoy it,” said Todd Burton, General Manager of Operations. “I want to thank our dedicated team who worked diligently to get this pool operational.”
On July 8, the city had announced the pool, which is 57 years old, was dealing with multiple cracks in the circulation pipes. Crews noticed the problem when the pool lost six inches of water overnight.
