Ten days after a shooting on Keeseekoowenin First Nation that killed a 33-year-old woman and wounded a 26-year-old man, Yellowhead RCMP are releasing more details about a suspect.
RCMP said they are looking for information about Frank La Forge, 52, from Keeseekoowenin. He is wanted on charges of first degree murder and attempted murder in relation to the shooting.
On July 28, at about 2:45 AM, RCMP were called to the report of this shooting and arrived on scene to find two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers tried to perform CPR on the 33-year-old woman, but she died at the scene. The 26-year-old man was airlifted to hospital by STARS Air Ambulance.
At the time, police described it as a targeted incident and said there was no danger to the public.
La Forge is described as 5’8” tall, approximately 150 lbs., with brown eyes and a bald head. Police said the suspect should not be approached, and if seen people are asked to call 9-1-1. Police believe he is in the Yellowhead area of Manitoba and has connections to the Kamsack and Yorkton areas of Saskatchewan.
Yellowhead RCMP and Manitoba RCMP Major Crime Services continue to investigate to determine other suspects.
