Meta will start collecting data from user interactions with A.I. chatbots to sell targeted ads. And Google is upgrading its smart home products so they’ll be able to converse, rather than just respond to commands.
So for example, you might ask an A.I. chatbot how to fix a dishwasher . . . and they might push you ads for NEW dishwashers. (Or, even better, ads for sexy dishwasher repair technicians in your area.) (???)
There’s not a lot you can do about it. They’ll be notifying users in the coming days, and will update their privacy policies to make it official.
