-The Brandon Wheat Kings are still looking for their first win of the season. They dropped both of their weekend games – 5-0 on Saturday to the Edmonton Oil Kings, and 6-3 on Sunday to the Saskatoon Blades. Brandon’s next game is this Friday at home to the Vancouver Giants.
-The Brandon AAA U18 Wheat Kings improved to 4-and-1 on Sunday after a 12-1 win over the Central Plains Capitals. In the Manitoba AAA U18 Female Hockey League, the Winnipeg Ice beat the Westman Wildcats 3-2.
-Both the men’s and women’s Brandon University Bobcats soccer teams won their games over the weekend. The women downed CMU 7-0 and AC 10-0. The men topped CMU 6-0 and AC 3-1.
-The Toronto Blue Jays are a win away from advancing to the American League Championship series. They beat the New York Yankees 13-7 yesterday to take a 2-0 lead in their best-of-5 division series. Game 3 goes tomorrow night in New York.
-Winnipeg’s Matt Dunstone and Ottawa’s Rachel Homan were the winners at the PointsBet Invitational curling tournament in Calgary.
-In the NFL Monday Night game – the 2-and-2 Kansas City Chiefs are in Jacksonville against the 3-and-1 Jaguars.
