-The Seattle Kraken beat Winnipeg 3-0 last night snapping the Jets’ winning streak at 5 games. The Jets are back in action tonight at home to the Calgary Flames.
-The Brandon Wheat Kings have two home games this weekend. They face the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday – and the Moose Jaw Warriors on Sunday afternoon.
-The World Series begins today. The Blue Jays take on the defending champion L-A Dodgers in Toronto.
-The Brandon University Bobcats women’s rugby team is hosting the championship round of the Prairie University Women’s Rugby Conference at John Reilly Field on Hilton Avenue. On Friday at noon – Saskatchewan plays SAIT – and at 2:00 pm, Brandon takes on Mount Royal. The medal games go Sunday; Bronze at 10:30 am – Gold medal game at 1:00 pm.
-The BU Bobcats are also hosting the MCAC Final 4 in both men’s and women’s soccer. Noon and 2:15 pm Saturday at Healthy Living Centre and Cougar fields. The women’s final goes Sunday at noon – the men’s at 2:15 pm at HLC. And the Bobcats basketball season opens Friday night with games against the University of Manitoba Bisons. The women’s game goes at 6:00 pm – the men’s at 8:00 pm.
-The Winnipeg Blue Bombers wrap up the regular season at home against the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday. The Bombers set a team record this year by selling-out every regular-season home game – that’s 14 straight sell-outs since August 2024.
-In the NFL last night – the Chargers beat the Vikings 37-10.
