Manitoba Health has expanded its list of potential measles exposure sites, adding two new Brandon locations as public health officials continue to track cases across the province.
The updated exposure list — available on the Manitoba Health measles site — now includes Brown’s Socialhouse on 18th Street and The Dock on Princess Avenue. Anyone who visited Brown’s Socialhouse on March 30 between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m., or The Dock on April 1 between 6:30 p.m. and 10 p.m., is asked to monitor for symptoms until the end of each site’s 21‑day incubation window.
These additions come as the province continues to respond to rising measles activity. In its latest update, Manitoba Health confirmed new exposures in multiple communities and reminded residents that measles remains highly contagious, particularly for people who are not fully immunized. The province’s broader update can be found in its latest measles bulletin.
Public health officials say individuals born in 1970 or later who are unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, or unsure of their immunization status should review their records and contact a health‑care provider if they were present at any listed exposure site. Some people may be eligible for preventive treatment if they act within six days of exposure.
Symptoms typically include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, and a rash that spreads across the body. Anyone who develops symptoms is urged to isolate immediately and call ahead before seeking medical care to avoid exposing others.
Manitoba Health continues to update exposure locations as new information becomes available. Residents can find the full list, along with guidance on vaccination and symptom monitoring, on the province’s measles exposure page.
