A relocation and update to the space for Brandon’s audiology clinic has come into effect this month.
Prairie Mountain Health announced in a release that the audiology clinic has moved from Town Centre (800 Rosser Avenue) to the Brandon Regional Health Centre. The Town Centre had been home to the clinic for more than 25 years.
“Planning for the transition was complex,” said Prairie Mountain Health in a release on their website. “There were two booths that required disassembly with panels weighing up to 300 lbs each. A specialty contractor was used to reassemble the booths on site. Diagnostic equipment had to be carefully packed and recalibrated once it moved over to the hospital. A reception area needed to be planned for to greet clients for their appointments. The new clinic space required demolition and renovation which was completed by an external contractor.”
An audiology clinic provides services like assessment and screening of hearing for infants, children, and adults, diagnosis of hearing loss, counseling about the type, degree and effects of the hearing loss, and selection or fitting of hearing aids, FM systems, and other assistive devices for children.
According to the release, the new clinic began receiving patients on April 22.
