At 12:01 PM, the RCMP put out a release saying the collision on Highway 1 and Road 134 West in the RM of Sifton has now been cleared.
They thanked motorists for their cooperation.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Anyone with a morning commute that brings them into Virden from the east has been dealing with delays this morning as a result of a crash on the Trans Canada Highway.
According to an RCMP release, at about 8:10 Virden RCMP got a call of a car crash on Highway 1 and Road 134 West, between Griswold and Oak Lake, in the RM of Sifton. Police said a large box truck appeared to have lost control and is on it’s side, blocking both lanes of westbound traffic.
“Motorists are advised to expect significant delays, or take an alternate route, as crews work to clear the highway,” said the RCMP in a release.
The male driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries.
