McDonalds in Brandon, Portage la Prairie, and Neepawa were more packed than usual on Wednesday, May 6, as the communities turned out en masse to support local charities for McHappy Day.
The 32nd annual event raised money for Ronald McDonald House charities and Westman Dreams for Kids. According to a release from Mellissa Young of McDonalds Brandon, Portage la Prairie, and Neepawa, the locations raised over $44,000 for those two charities.
“With your help, we were able to support families with sick and injured children at Ronald McDonald House and Westman Dreams for Kids, raising over $44,000,” said Young in the release. “We hope you are as delighted as we are to be part of this success.”
McDonald’s Canada has supported Ronald McDonald House charities in the country for more than 45 years.
