“The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” First 2026 Film To Reach $1-Billion
As we near the close of the first half of 2026, Hollywood has its first billion dollar movie. “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” (released April 1) crossed the $1-billion dollar threshold (worldwide) over the weekend, becoming the second “Mario Brothers” movie to do so. “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” ended its run in theaters with nearly $1.4-billion in global ticket sales. It rules the global 2026 box office, followed by “Michael” ($860-million), “Project Hail Mary” ($680-million), “The Devil Wears Prada 2” ($650-million) and “Hoppers” ($372-million).
It is on my list to see this summer!
Thanks
KC
