Four projects have been announced as recipients of major funding from the provincial government for the next round of wastewater infrastructure updates, and a WestMan community is among those benefiting from provincial dollars.
The town of Melita is getting $350,000 from the province for their Maple Street sewer and water renewals project. The project, which will renew 270 meters of sewer main and 425 meters of watermain, is slated to cost $700,000 in total.
“These investments reflect our government’s commitment to ensuring safe, reliable water and wastewater services for Manitobans,” said Municipal and Northern Relations Minister Glen Simard. “By partnering with municipalities, we are strengthening critical infrastructure, supporting local development and improving quality of life for families and businesses across the province.”
Arborg, Emerson-Franklin, and St. Francois Xavier will also be receiving funding for their projects, including the Town of Arborg, which will get $915,000 toward their $2.4 million watermain renewal and new secondary supply well.
