With many WestMan roads damaged or even destroyed by flooding and communities harder and harder to access, STARS Air Ambulance has announced they are moving their air ambulance to the Brandon Airport.
“STARS can confirm that our duty helicopter in Manitoba, STAR-7, has been temporarily repositioned by Shared Health to the Brandon Airport in order to enhance response times to communities in western Manitoba which have reduced accessibility due to recent flooding,” they said in response to an email from Pattison Media. “During this repositioning period, STARS continues to fly critical care missions wherever we are needed across our Manitoba service area.”
In their 2025-26 fiscal year, STARS flew a total of 1181 missions across Manitoba.
