Items In Your Home That Are Dirtier Than A Toilet Seat
The NSF International Household Germ Study had volunteers test 30 common household items for bacteria, yeast and mold.
Their results show the bathroom isn’t the filthiest in the house, the kitchen is, with more bacteria and even signs of fecal contamination than a lot of bathroom surfaces.
The dirtiest item tested overall was a dish sponge or rag, as 75% of them contained coliform – a type of bacteria that includes salmonella and E. coli.
