A popular summer aviation tradition returns on Saturday, August 1, 2026, as the 11th Annual Drive-In/Fly-In Breakfast welcomes visitors to Harry & Nancy Pauls’ Airfield near La Rivière, Manitoba. Pilots, neighbours and hundreds of guests are expected and everyone is welcome! The event, which runs from 7:30 to 11 a.m., has grown from a modest gathering of about 40 people into one of southern Manitoba’s most anticipated summer community mornings.
What began in 2012 after the Pauls family attended a Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) fly‑in in Steinbach has evolved into a major fundraiser supporting life‑saving aviation work around the world. Last year’s breakfast drew roughly 230 guests and 15 aircraft, raising a record $14,000 for MAF Canada. Even on years when weather limits arrivals to a single plane, crowds still come by road—proof of the event’s deep community roots.
Nancy Pauls says the generosity continues to astonish them, noting how many visitors return annually and how people with “nothing to do with flying” still come to support the cause. A growing number of the Pauls’ grandchildren now volunteer as part of the event’s expanding crew.
Guests can expect aircraft arrivals and departures throughout the morning, a hearty breakfast served by donation, and a chance to learn how MAF uses aviation to deliver medical care, supplies, relief workers and essential cargo to remote regions worldwide.
This year’s breakfast also features a silent auction, including a quilt sewn by local women, along with possible draws and door prizes.
