Breach of the Peace
In the past 24 hours one individual was arrested for Breach of the Peace and held in Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. The 53-year-old female will be released once sober.
Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours, five arrest warrants were executed. Two individuals were held in custody for morning court. Two individuals were released on Appearance Notices, while another was released on an Undertaking, with all scheduled to appear in court at a future date.
Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours, two individuals were arrested under the PDCIPA. They will be released in the morning once sober.
Breach of Probation
On August 5th, 2026, at 6:02 a.m., police responded to a report of a male and female fighting in the 900 block of Rosser Avenue. Officers located the individuals; however, neither party disclosed that an assault had occurred.
The 26-year-old female was found to be in breach of a release condition prohibiting her from communicating with the 57-year-old male while consuming alcohol. As she was intoxicated, she was arrested and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) detention cells. She will be released once sober, with a court appearance scheduled for October 15th, 2026.
Utter Threats
On August 5th at 10:40 a.m. a male reported an extended family member threatened to stab him while at his residence on Lee Lane. Police attended and arrested the 17-year-old female youth. She was brought to BPS detention cells to be later released to a different family member once sober. A future court date of October 13th has been set.
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
On August 5th at 10:33 a.m. as well as at 12:49 p.m. – two separate calls regarding the same suspect came into BPS regarding missing power tools. At 1:30 p.m. the 51-year-old male was located and arrested in the 200 block of Lorne Avenue. He was brought to BPS detention cells and will attend court the morning of August 6th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order
On August 5th at 3:30 p.m. police attended a business within a hotel in the 800 block of Pacific Avenue and located a 40-year-old male who was on conditions not to attend the establishment. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. He will attend court in the morning on August 6th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order x2
On August 6th, 2026, at 1:07 a.m., police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue. Investigation revealed that the 25-year-old male passenger was in breach of his release conditions by failing to comply with his curfew as well as to abstain from consuming alcohol. The male was arrested and brought to BPS detention cells. He will be released on an Appearance Notice once sober, with a court appearance scheduled for October 19th, 2026.
Possession of a Weapon / Assault Peace Officer
On August 6th, 2026, at 2:29 a.m., police observed a male on Willowdale Crescent who appeared to be agitated and intoxicated. Officers initiated a wellbeing check, during which the 38-year-old male became increasingly agitated and hostile. Despite repeated directions to keep his hands out of his pockets, he continued reaching into them and eventually produced a knife of which he then threw toward the police officers. The male was then advised he was under arrest for Possession of a Weapon. While being taken into custody, he kicked one of the officers, striking the officer in the jaw. The officer was not injured. The male was brought to BPS detention cells and is scheduled to appear in court on the morning of August 6th, 2026.
