Protective Detention & Care of Intoxicated Persons Act
In the past 24 hours, four individuals from separate incidents were arrested under the PDCIPA. The individuals will be released once sober in the morning.
Arrest Warrant
In the past 24 hours, seven arrest warrants were executed. Six individuals were held in custody for court in the morning, one of whom was already in custody at Brandon Correctional Centre. The final seventh individual was brought to BPS for an over the phone hearing. He was later released to his residence.
Disobey Court Order
On August 13th at 9:03 p.m. police were called to a parking lot as a male was not to be within two city blocks of his ex’s residence, yet he was in the parking lot in the 2100 block of Ottawa Avenue. The male was located, arrested and later released via Appearance Notice with a future court date of October 10th, 2026.
Failure to Comply Release Order x3 / Assault x2
On August 13th at 10:52 p.m., police responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of 2nd Street. A 22-year-old female was reportedly assaulting two individuals known to one another. The female was subject to a Release Order prohibiting her from attending the residence or communicating with either individual. Police learned that the female had assaulted both individuals during an argument. She was arrested and transported to BPS, where she remained in custody to attend court on the morning of August 14th, 2026.
