The 25th Annual 9/11 Memorial will take place Friday, September 11, beginning at 11 a.m. at the 9/11 Memorial Site. Organizers are encouraging attendees to arrive by 10:30 a.m., with gate admission to the garden waived until noon.
The ceremony will open with a procession featuring honour guards from U.S. and Canadian border agencies, North Dakota Parks and Recreation, and the United Firefighters of Winnipeg. The Manitoba Emergency Services College in Brandon will also participate with an aerial fire truck display.
MLA David Pankratz will serve as emcee, while Winnipeg Deputy Fire Chief Jason Shaw, who attended the 10th anniversary observance in New York City, will deliver the keynote address. The Bottineau High School Choir will perform the national anthems.
Following the memorial service, refreshments will be available, and the site’s café and gift shop will remain open to visitors.
